CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball team had seven players named to the All-Southern Athletic Association Teams on Friday. Sophomore
Drew Judson was a First Team selection, seniors
Daniel Imbro and
Will Nichol, junior
Wyatt Hogan and freshmen
Tanner Cooper and
Jorge Leon were named to the Second Team and sophomore
Justin Robison was an Honorable Mention.
Judson, a second baseman from Austin, Texas, hit .390 with 37 runs, 55 hits, five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 15 RBI, a .496 slugging percentage, a .453 on-base percentage and eight stolen bases. He ranks 26th in the nation in hits and 39th in the runs and is tied for first in the SAA in runs, fourth in hits, fifth in average and slugging and seventh in on-base percentage.
Leon, a third baseman from Mexcio City, hit .356 with 37 runs, 47 hits, two doubles, two triples, 15 RBI, a .402 slugging percentage and a .449 on-base percentage. He ranks 39th in the country in runs scored and is tied for the SAA lead in runs, ranks eighth in OBP, ninth in average and 10th in hits.
Cooper, a shortstop from Greenwood, Ark., hit .331 with 21 runs, 45 hits, four doubles, a home run, 32 RBI and four steals. He ranks fourth in the SAA in RBI, 12th in hits and 15th in average.
Hogan, a left fielder from Simi Valley, Calif., hit .309 with 31 runs scored, 42 hits, 11 doubles, a home run, 28 RBI, a .412 slugging percentage and two stolen bases. He ranked sixth in the league in doubles and seventh in runs and RBI. Hogan was a 2014 All-SAA Second Team selection and the 2014 SAA Newcomer of the Year.
Imbro, a right-handed starting pitcher from Little Rock, Ark., went 6-4 with a 2.91 earned run average, 51 strikeouts, five complete games and a shutout over 74.1 innings and 10 starts. He ranks seventh in the nation in complete games and 28th in wins. Imbro is tied for the SAA lead in innings, ranks tied for third in wins, fifth in strikeouts and seventh in ERA. He was a 2013 and 2015 All-SAA Second Team selection as well.
Nichol, a right-handed starting pitcher from Dallas, went 5-2 with a 3.09 ERA, 42 strikeouts, four complete games and a shutout over 58.1 innings and nine starts. He ranks tied for sixth in the conference in wins, ninth in strikeouts and 10th in ERA. Nichol was a 2015 All-SAA Honorable Mention.
Robison, a catcher from Rockwall, Texas, hit .304 with nine runs, 31 hits, three doubles, a home run, 26 RBI and a stolen base. He also threw out 16 runners trying to steal for a 32% success rate. Robison ranks second in the SAA in runners caught stealing and tied for ninth in RBI.
Hendrix will open the 2016 SAA Tournament at home against Centre College Friday at 5 p.m.
