King was both determined and “unstoppable” as Coach Dan Priest put it in an interview talking about the basketball standout. King earned many prestigious awards during his playing days. Most notable, King was named to the NCAA Division III Freshman All-American Team for the 2005-06 season while also being named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year. King also was named All-SCAC Honorable Mention for the season before earning All-SCAC First Team for the next three seasons (2006-09).
In addition to earning prestigious national and conference awards, King holds many program records.
