Hendrix College Athletics

Rev. William B. Smith of Dallas, Texas, retired from the staff of Highland Park United Methodist Church in 2012, having served at the church for 44 years. After graduating from Hendrix in 1963, Rev. Smith worked tirelessly to raise the profile of college in the Dallas area.

A native of Gillett, Ark., Rev. Smith earned a master of theology degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He served on the Alumni Board of Governors for more than 20 years, serving as president of the Hendrix Alumni Association, as the national chair of the Hendrix Alumni Loyalty Fund, and as a member of the Board of Trustees beginning in 2009. Smith was a huge supporter of the Hendrix Warriors, traveling to many events, home and away, while also serving as a recruiter for the school, as a whole.
