Danny Thomas, class of ’74, was a four-year letterman in basketball. He was All-AIC and All-District 17 NAIA in 1972 and 1973 and was honorable mention All-American in 1973. While playing with the Warriors, Thomas set a new single game record of 43 points and a total scoring record of 1,825 points. In 1971, he lettered in track and was a member of the Hendrix 440-yard relay team which set a school record. In 1973-74, he served as assistant basketball coach to Cliff Garrison. After graduation, Thomas was head basketball coach at Marion and Sylvan Hills high schools.
