Hendrix College Athletics

Jerry Carter ('61) of Danville, Ark., was a four-year letterman for the Warriors in both football and track. As an end, he earned second team All-AIC honors in 1959. Carter played both offense and defense, was the Warrior punter for four years and served as team co-captain in 1960. Winning points in every track meet, Carter competed in the broad jump, ran the 100 and 220 yard dashes and was a member of the 440-yard, 880-yard, and mile medley relay teams. He was an important member of the Warrior track and field squad which won the AIC Championship in 1958 and 1959.
