John Honeycutt was not only a member of the Hendrix Men’s Swimming & Diving team but was also a major competitor in the sport, bringing home a large number of awards for Hendrix. In 1989 and 1990, Honeycutt was given the distinction of being a part of the All-New South Intercollegiate Swimming League (NSISL) honor. In 1988 and 1990, Honeycutt was named College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American Honorable Mention, and was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in both 1989 and 1990.
Honeycutt also holds the school and NSISL record in the 100 yard butterfly and was a four-year letterman. He set school records in the 200 yard medley relay in 1987 and the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1989.
Honeycutt is currently a pediatric neurosurgeon at Cook Children’s Hospital. He and his wife, Shannon, have three children, Anna, Caroline and Elizabeth.
