Kerry Evans, class of ’84, was a four-year letterman and starter for the Warrior basketball team. He was the point guard on three AIC Championship teams and was a three-time All-AIC and All-NAIA District 17 selection. In 1983 and 1984, he was named Honorable Mention All-American and in 1984 was the NAIA National Free Throw Champion. He was also named as the Arkansas Democrat AIC Player of the Year in 1984 and led the AIC in scoring and assists. Evans was the winner of the Bobby Reese Award given to the AIC Player who best exemplified the ideals of the late Henderson State coach.
