Pickering played a key role on a team that won the most games in Hendrix basketball history with 28 wins and an AIC Championship. He was named All-AIC, All-NAIA District 17 and Honorable Mention NAIA All-American in 1991. An outstanding student, he was selected as an NAIA Scholar Athlete in 1990.
