Hendrix College Athletics

Walter L. Hodges (’52) of Conway was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball, and track. He was noted for his durability and reliability in football where he was a “60 minute man” and served as captain. In basketball Hodges was dubbed as “Old Reliable” for his steady play. In track he was a sprinter and a member of the winning 440 relay team in the AIC meet. He was named Who’s Who Best Athlete by the Troubadour and received the Hugh Robertson Best Athlete Award his senior year.
