Sophomore Estrella Flores of Santa Fe, N.M. was just two and a half feet short of the school record in the javelin with a mark of 36.27 meters (119 ft.-.25 in.) at the Emporia State Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier on Saturday. She finishing 11th with her season-best throw.
