Kacey Hight, from Conway, Ark., was named Hendrix' 2014-15 NCAA Woman of the Year at the Fourth Annual Senior Banquet on Friday. She was an All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Third Team and All-Southern Athletic Association Honorable Mention defender. She made the 2014 All-SAA Tournament and All-Sportsmanship teams. A four-year starter, Hight played in 65 career games with three assists. She contributed to 14 shutouts and defended the opponent's top offensive threat every contest. In the classroom, Hight has a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Chemistry with a Spanish minor. She was a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District team selection and made the conference academic honor roll four times. She was also an associate member of the Tri-Beta Biological Society. Hight was a two-year team captain and served as an Academic Peer Mentor and Chemistry tutor. She was on the Committee for Student and Athlete Affairs and was a Hall Director at Arkansas Governor's School. Hight went on an Odyssey Trip to Guatemala in 2014 which included conducting a soccer camp and volunteer work in repairing a school. She has also volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club, Freezin' for a Reason, Chase Race, and TOP Soccer for disabilities. After graduation, Hight will attend Pharmacy School at UAMS.
