Junior Lauren Mahaney went 4-1 in singles play on the week as she advanced to the ITA Southwest Regionals in Georgetown, Texas over the weekend. The Huntington, W.Va. native started the week by picking up a number three singles win over Paige Myers of Ozarks (Ark.) on Tuesday. Mahaney then defeated Victoria Kniffen of UT Tyler in a third set tiebreaker and teammate Sarah Walker at the ITA Regionals on Friday. She then knocked off the top seed of the B Draw, Marieke Visser of Southwestern 6-1, 6-3 before losing in the quarterfinals 6-4, 7-6 (3) to #6 Jasmine Briant of Hardin-Simmons.
