Freshman swimmer Sam Melhorn broke five individual school records and helped break three relays at the Southern Athletic Association Championships in Birmingham, Ala. Melhorn, from Knoxville, Tenn. earned All-SAA Second Team honors with second place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. He ranked eighth among all male swimmers at the meet with 49 points. Melhorn broke the school record in the 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, as well as helping with the 200 freestyle, 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
