Junior Elizabeth Krug broke three school records and placed fourth in the pentathlon at the Iowa State Holiday Preview on Friday. The Heber Springs, Ark. native tallied 3,338 points, breaking her old school record by 50 points.
With her score, Krug has the best pentathlon mark in the all of Division III in the early season. She finished behind two members of Big 12 member Iowa State and Division II powerhouse Lincoln (Mo.).
In the individual events, Krug took first in the shot put with a throw of 10.76 meters (35 ft.-3.75 in.), breaking her school indoor record by 13 inches. She also broke the indoor school record in the 800 meter run in 2:27.77.
Krug also placed fifth in the long jump at 5.14 meters (16 ft.-10.5 in.) and tied for fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters (5 ft.-.25 in .). She also finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.62 seconds.
