Andrea Newsom enters her ninth season as head coach of the Warrior Dance Team and first as the cheerleading coach. She provides 16 years of experience, including being a member of the Hendrix Dance Team from 2002-06. Newsom served as the squad's co-captain for two years.

She currently works full time at Hendrix as the Director of Purchasing and Budgeting/Grants Manager.

Newsom danced in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in November of 2001 and was a member of the Diamond Dancers, a professional dance squad for the Arkansas Diamond Arena Football team.

She teaches a variety of dance styles from bellydancing to ballroom, Latin and swing, and has been a Zumba instructor.

She was also previously employed by Varsity Corporation to work with Universal Cheerleading Association and Universal Dance Association Summer Dance/Cheer Camps.
