CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team easily took both games of a Southern Athletic Association double-header from Sewanee - The University of the South at Warrior Field Friday afternoon. The Warriors (8-14, 4-8) won both games against the Tigers (0-16, 0-14) by the score of 17-1 in five innings.
In game one, Hendrix pounded out 16 hits, including a pair of doubles from sophomore second baseman
Victoria Hughes and a two-run homer by freshman pitcher
Autumn Martin in the third inning.
Martin (4-5) also limited Sewanee to two hits and a walk with a season-high six strikeouts.
In game two, the Orange & Black sent 17 batters to the plate en route to a 14-run first inning. Senior right fielder
Morgan Fires hit a two-run triple in the first. In total, Hendrix had 20 hits in the nightcap, tied for the ninth most in program history.
Junior
Kayla Patton (2-5) earned the win by fanning a season-best seven batters, and allowing just two hits, a walk and a run.
Hendrix Notes- 10 different Warriors recorded hits and 11 reached base in game one.

Michaela Larabee, Martin,
Shelby Anderson and
Nikki Sanders each scored three runs. Martin and Sanders drove in three.
- Hughes, Anderson, Sanders and Fires each recorded two hits and Martin had three.
- 11 different Warriors had hits and 10 scored in game two.
- Martin once again scored three times with two hits and two RBI.
- Patton recorded three hits as did Anderson and Larabee.
- Anderson connected for two doubles on the day, moving her into a fifth-place tie on the Warrior career list with 32.
- Freshman left fielder
Samantha Schaefer went 2-for-2 with three RBI.
- Fires was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Hughes went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs.
Sewanee Notes- Pitcher Shayla Vandergriff and second baseman Courtney Saunders had hits in game one
- Saunders recorded both RBI on the day.
- First baseman Caroline Holmes and catcher Sara Burklin had hits in game two.
