CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team defeated Drew University 7-5 at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Wednesday evening.
The Warriors (3-5) found the net first when freshman defenseman
Dominic Dachille scored with 7:54 left in the first. Ninety seconds later, the Rangers (0-3) got on the board the scored another one at the 3:47 mark. Senior attacker
Travis Rabun tied it up on assist from freshmn midfielder
Robert Seguin just 34 seconds later.
Drew took a 3-2 lead with 1:19 left in the first before Hendrix freshman
Jack Gorman scored with 17 seconds left. Rabun scored eight seconds later on a pass from senior
Zachary Baier to give the Warriors a 4-3 lead at the end of the first.
Rabun scored for the third time on an assist from junior midfielder
Cody Eckes early in the second. Thomas Ensmenger scored a man-up goal for the Rangers at the nine minute mark. Sophomore
Jason Blatt won the ensuing faceoff and assisted Rabun's fourth goal of the night to make the game 6-4 in the Warriors' favor.
Gorman scored the Orange & Black's only goal of the third quarter, assisted by Eckes. Thomas Garner of Drew recorded the final goal of the game with 6:13 left in the third.
Hendrix outshot Drew 37-18 overall and 27-15 on goal. The Rangers had a 30-25 ground ball advantage and both teams won eight faceoffs. Drew committed 24 turnovers to Hendrix' 14.
Hendrix Notes- Rabun scored four goals for the fourth time this season.
