MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse season came to an end in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association with a 10-6 loss at Berry College Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (6-11) had the only goal of the first quarter when freshman attacker
Drew Scanlan scored on an assist from junior
Cody Eckes. The Vikings (8-8) outscored the Warriors 5-2 in the second quarter to take a two-goal lead into halftime.
Hendrix cut the lead back to 6-4 on Scanlan's second goal 2:25 into the third quarter, but Berry tacked on two more goals at the end of the period. Freshman
Cole Cramer scored on a pass from Scanlan early in the fourth quarter, but the Vikings added another goal nearly 2:30 later. Cramer scored again with 6:55 left to make the game 9-6. Berry added one more goal at the 4:04 mark for the 10-6 final score.
The Vikings outshot the Warriors 37-34 overall and 23-21 on goal. Berry held a 35-21 ground ball advantage, but Hendrix won faceoffs 10-8. The Vikings forced 13 turnovers while the Warriors caused 10.
The game was the final in the careers of seven seniors for Hendrix -
Joe Takacs,
Dennis O'Hara,
Zachary Baier,
Dan D'Ostuni,
Kevin Estell,
Will Ross and
Travis Rabun.
Hendrix Notes- Scanlan and Cramer each scored two goals with an assist.
- Eckes finished with two assists and caused two turnovers.
- Rabun scored his team-leading 33rd goal of the year.

Dominic Dachille caused two turnovers with four ground balls. He finished the season with 29 caused turnovers, one off the school record.
- Sophomore
Jason Blatt won 10 faceoffs and picked up four ground balls.
- D'Ostuni, Estell, Graham Macrus and
Robert Seguin each caused a turnover.
- Takacs recorded 13 saves, two ground balls and a caused turnovers.
Berry Notes- Jake Emche had a goal and three assists.
- McKinley Gannon scored three times and Justin Westbrook recorded two.
- Bailey Martin also had two goals and an assist.
- Keeper Nick Voso had 15 saves, seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.
