Atlanta, GA - The Warriors were back in action this Saturday. Both teams competed valiantly this afternoon in the SAA Conference Championships. The men would run as individuals for no team score, while the women ended the day at eighth out of eight schools.
Leading the charge for the men's team was
Nathan Andress, who finished at a team-best 29:11:47, good for 29th overall. Joining Andress was junior
William Roberts, who finished the meet 77th with his 34:14:62. Freshmen,
Joe Coker, and sophomore
Zech Montgomery competed as well for the men's team, rounding out the efforts. Coker and Montgomery finished 80th and 81st for the Warriors, respectively, with finishes of 37:31:80 and 40:05:97.
For the women's team, Hendrix was led by sophomore
Mackenzie Gearin. Her 26:11:77 finish was good enough to break the top-30 on the afternoon, as she rounded out the top finishers with an even 30th place. Usual suspects for the Warriors polished the top three finishers for the team, as junior runner
Melissa Pizza (67th) and senior
Ellen Gotelli (74th) posted respective times of 28:49:62 and 30:42:08. Elsewhere for the women's team, freshman
Sam Johnson had a great day. Johnson's 33:59:41 was good for 78th overall.
