SHERMAN, Texas – The Warriors opened up the 2019 season out in Texas Saturday with a pair of contests against Austin College. Hendrix (2-0) recorded a pair of 10-run games and combined for 22 total hits as the Warriors took down Austin College (0-9) 10-4 in the opening game and 10-2 in five innings in the final game Saturday. Seniors Savannah Draud and Emily Stockalper each produced a complete game outing Saturday while the Warriors racked up two victories on the season. Draud struck out 10 Roos in seven innings pitched while Stockalper allowed just two Austin College runs in five innings of action.

NOTABLE:
GAME 1
- Hunt helped build all the momentum for the Warriors as she stole home in the first inning to put Hendrix on top early.
- Sewell, Hunt, Reames recorded home run shots in the second and fourth innings to put the Warriors up 9-0 through four.
- Hunt finished the day 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs.
- Brink and Reames collected two hits on the day against the Roos while Sewell tallied three RBIs as well.

GAME 2
- Hendrix struck first for the second time in as many games as Sewell singled up the middle to give Hendrix the lead in the first inning once again.
- Stockalper helped her own cause in the second inning as the senior tallied a RBI single back up the middle to put Hendrix up 4-0.
- Hunt, Stockalper, Sewell, Mortan and Brink all collect two hits against Austin College and combine for nine runs amongst the five players.
- After combining for four home run shots in the opening game Saturday, Hendrix failed to hit one in game two but did collect seven extra-base hits.
- Mortan and Sewell registered three RBIs apiece against the Roos in game two Saturday.

"It was a great start to the season," stated Head Coach Amy Weaver. "Our starting pitchers performed great. I was extremely happy with how well we hit the ball. 22 hits in two games with four home runs by four different players in the first game is a great day, offensively."
