Men's Lacrosse Falls to Rhodes in Conference Opener

CONWAY, Ark. - Sitting at 4-2 after completing most of its non-conference contests, Hendrix hosted Rhodes in the conference-opening game for both teams Saturday night inside Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. After the Lynx led 3-1 after one quarter, Rhodes outscored Hendrix 6-0 in the second period to obtain all momentum and defeat Hendrix 15-5 after 60 minutes of lacrosse Saturday evening. With the loss, Hendrix drops to 4-3 on the season and 0-1 in Southern Athletic Association play while Rhodes improves to 7-2 and 1-0 in SAA. Spencer Dorfneilsen accounted for all five goals for Hendrix Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After Dorfneilsen struck for his first goal of the day right at five minutes into the action, Rhodes scored the final eight goals of the first half to take a commanding 9-1 lead into the halftime break.
- Following a Lynx score 90 seconds into the third period, Dorfneilsen accounted for his second score of the game as the Warriors trailed 10-2 with 8:33 left in the third.
- Rhodes scored the next three goals before Dorfneilsen recorded a hat trick against the Lynx.
- With 6:14 to go, Rhodes added another goal to take a 12-goal lead but Dorfneilsen tallied the final two goals of the contest as Hendrix fell 15-5.

OF NOTE:
- With his five goals Saturday, Dorfneilsen has scored five goals in a game three times this season so far and has recorded four hat tricks on the year.
- Dominic Dachille scooped up a team-high seven ground balls in the loss while Cole Cramer recorded six.
- Samuel Martin tallied a team-best five caused turnovers while Dachille caused four.
- Taylor Noack recorded 14 saves against the Lynx Saturday in all 60 minutes of action.
- Both teams registered 43 shots Saturday but the Lynx sustained 29 of those on goal while Hendrix recorded just 21.
- After leading the entire NCAA in ground balls coming into the game, Hendrix recorded 31 Saturday while Rhodes had just 19.

WHO'S NEXT:
The Warriors will hit the road for just the second time this year. Hendrix will embark on a season-long five-game road trip with the first match coming against Southern Virginia University Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Buena Vista, Va.
