Warriors host 58th annual Hendrix Relays

CONWAY, Ark. - The Warriors host the 58th annual Hendrix Relays on Friday with a double dual meet against Ozarks (Ark.) and Austin (Texas) inside Bob Courtway Pool. The diving competitions begin at 2:30 p.m. CT, while the swimming competitions start at 5:30 p.m.

Admission is free, but due to COVID-19 safety protocols, capacity is limited to 75 percent, or 70 fans. Registration for tickets is only available online. The gate at the venue opens 30 minutes prior to the start. All spectators are required to wear a mask over the nose and mouth and physically distance when possible. Reserved seating on the south end of the pool exists for Hendrix students, faculty and staff. No food or drink except bottled water is allowed inside the pool. Spectators are expected to stay vacate the venue immediately following the meet's conclusion. No interaction with student-athletes is permitted at the meet site.

The meet is televised online via the Warrior Sports Network.

Rhodes (Tenn.) defeated Hendrix, 146-90, in Bob Courtway Pool in the Warriors' last dual meet on Oct. 1, 2021. The Warriors' 200-yard medley relay team of Spencer Quon, Tyler Hinrichsen, Derrick Pelletier and Paxton Higgerson won the event in a time of 1:42.47. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Higgerson, Dominic Stevens, Zane Shaner and Andrew Huss took first by only 26-hundredths of a second with a time of 1:29.02. Higgerson won the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 53.55 seconds. Quon won the 100-yard backstroke in 56.56 seconds and took second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.00. Shaner was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.65 seconds and 100-yard freestyle in 49.37 seconds. Josh Wadley finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:38.29. In 1-meter diving, Oli Steven-Assheuer finished second for Hendrix with 248.05 points. He took second in 3-meter diving with 215.70 points.
