CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix defeated Southwestern (Texas), 17-12, on Saturday at Warrior Lacrosse Field in the season opener for both teams.

Hendrix (1-0) took a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game. After Southwestern (0-1) cut the deficit in half, the Warriors scored two more goals to take a 4-1 lead. After Emma Pertuit scored consecutive goals for the Pirates, Hendrix tallied seven-straight to end the half and take an 11-3 advantage into intermission.
