MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Hendrix's late push to rally from a four-goal, second-half deficit fell just short at Valhalla Stadium, as Berry (Ga.) picked up an 8-7 win.

Trailing 8-4 with 16:56 left in the game, Hendrix (1-5) got two of Alison Watanabe's four goals Sunday in a 5:18 span before a Lillian Hemingway to Laycee Carpenter connection at the 5:18 mark brought Kristi Crowley's unit within one. The Warriors limited Berry (4-4) to just one shot in the final 4:41 and had three chances to tie but were unable to find the equalizer.

Goals by J.J. Tufu and Watanabe in a span of 48 seconds tied the contest at two less than three minutes into the first half before the Vikings responded with three-consecutive goals and six of the next eight.

Carlee May and Abby Sprayberry each had two goals for Berry. Sprayberry also picked up nine ground balls.

Andrea Lindgren (4-4) made nine saves between the pipes for the Vikings.

Watanabe and Brenna Kuenzi each had four shots on goal. Bri McDonough picked up six ground balls. Hemingway totaled five draw controls. Kuenzi caused four turnovers.

Alexis Williams (1-5) recorded 12 saves in net for the Orange and Black.

Hendrix travels to Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) on April 10, with the game set to start at noon CT.
