Hendrix rolls on Dorfneilsen's historic night

CONWAY, Ark. - Spencer Dorfneilsen set a new Hendrix single-game record for points (13) in Hendrix's 25-3 thrashing of Centenary (La.) on Thursday inside Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. The Warriors improved to 5-0 all-time in the series, having outscored the Gents 128-7.

"I am beyond proud of this group," Hendrix head coach Anthony Biondo said. "We had a quick turn around to prepare for this team after the game got pushed back. It was a great night, and I was happy to see everyone get involved and take steps that we needed to prepare us for conference."

Dorfneilsen, who scored a career-high nine goals, ended his historic night one shy of the Hendrix mark and four shy of the NCAA Division III record of 13.

Dorfneilsen also tallied four assists, one shy of the Warriors' record and tied for fifth most in program history.

Maximus LaMendola ended with five goals and one assist in the victory. Reigning Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Offensive Player of the Week Alec Davis, Brandon Barnes and Ezra Terry each scored three goals.

Davis also contributed two assists.

Patrick Dellinger and Ethan Austin had one goal apiece in the win. Austin and Klaus Rowan each poured in three assists.

Dellinger and Tyler Jones each had an assist.

Dellinger, Jones and Benjamin Libby each picked up four ground balls.

Reigning SAA Defensive Player of the Week Garrison Winter (2-1) made six saves in 60 minutes between the pipes. 

Three Centenary (0-4) players scored one goal.

Frederic Siskron (0-4) made 16 saves in net in defat.

Hendrix led 10-1 at halftime, with Dorfneilsen totaling four goals and an assist in the first half. Barnes scored two of the Warriors first three goals in the contest. 

Biondo's bunch staked to a 16-3 advantage after three quarters.

Hendrix concludes a four-game homestand March 13 against Dallas (Texas) starting at noon CT.
