CONWAY, Ark. - The Warriors'
Alison Watanabe tallied a hat trick in her final home game Saturday in a 26-4 loss to Rhodes (Tenn.) in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) finale for both teams at Warrior Lacrosse Field. The Lynx have won 13-straight contests overall.
Watanabe gave Hendrix (1-7, 0-5 SAA) a 1-0 lead 2:12 into the game when she beat Emma Bradley, but Rhodes (12-0, 5-0 SAA) scored the next nine in a row en route to a 19-2 lead at intermission.
Baylee Barker totaled six goals, two assists and five draw controls for the Lynx. Payton Bennett had five goals and six assists. Emily Bruner and Aidan Pike each had a hat trick. Bruner also recorded five assists.
Bradley (12-0) made two saves in the first half, and Mary Leonard recorded as many stops in the final 30 minutes.
Lillian Hemingway scored a goal for the Warriors.
Laycee Carpenter,
J.J. Tufu and
Zoey Montgomery each picked up two ground balls.
Brenna Kuenzi had four draw controls.
Alexis Williams (1-7) went the distance between the pipes for the Warriors and made 18 saves, which tied for fifth most in program history.
Prior to the game, Watanabe, Carpenter, Tufu,
Caitlan Hillier,
Olivia Kelley and
Andrea Stitt were honored as part of Senior Day festivities.
Hendrix travels to Southwestern (Texas) on April 23 for a 5 p.m. CT start.
