CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix lost the first two of a three-game Southern Athletic Association series to No. 9 Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) on Friday at Warrior Softball Field. The Panthers took the first game 11-0 in five innings and the second contest 8-2.

In game one, four Birmingham-Southern players had two hits. Sam Hilyer drove in four runs. Kailey Walters scored twice.

Annie Clayton (6-1) pitched a complete game in the circle for the win, allowing one hit with two strikeouts and two walks.

Avery Colclaser went 1-for-2 at the plate for Hendrix. Grace Bryant and Brooke Lowry each drew a walk.

Hailey Johnston (1-4) suffered the loss in the circle, surrendering six earned runs on five hits with a strikeout in 0.2 innings pitched.

In game two, Clayton batted 3-for-5 with two runs scored. 

Madison Plunkett scored three times for Birmingham-Southern (22-3, 10-1 SAA).

Lauren Keplinger (9-0) pitched 4.1 innings for the win, giving up two earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Colclaser was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Bryant and Kinsey Bryant each had two hits.

G. Bryant (0-4) threw five innings in the loss, allowing eight runs, seven earned, on 10 hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

Hendrix (3-9, 1-7 SAA) totaled nine hits in game two.
