BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Hendrix sits in fifth place after the first day of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Swimming and Diving Championships held at Birmingham CrossPlex. The Warriors totaled 74 points.

Hendrix's 200 yard medley relay team of Heston Coon, Paxton Higgerson, Zane Shaner and Andrew Huss placed fourth in a time of 1:36.18. The 800 yard freestyle relay team of Higgerson, Shaner, Spencer Quon and Tyler Hinrichsen took fifth and broke the school record after posting a time of 7:08.09, which bested the previous program record from 1985 by 2.5 seconds.

Thursday's preliminary heats start at 10 a.m. CT. The finals of those events begin at 6 p.m.
