CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix's overall win streak improved to five following two wins Sunday in the Warrior Spring Fling at Warrior Softball Field. The Orange and Black defeated Westminster (Mo.), 17-0 in five innings, and Centenary (La.), 9-8.
Hendrix (7-1), off to its best start since posting an 8-1 record to begin 2019, improved to 4-0 in Conway under first-year head coach

The Warriors earned their fourth-consecutive triumph over the Blue Jays, all at Warrior Softball Field.
Hendrix scored its most runs since a 17-0 victory in five innings over Dallas (Texas) on Feb. 16, 2020.Â
After an
Aubrey Lee RBI double in the top of the first inning and
Savannah Shaw scored in the third, the Warriors blew the contest open with a 12-run fourth, their most runs scored in a half-inning since plating 14 in the bottom of the first in a 17-1 win in five innings over Sewanee (Tenn.) on April 3, 2015.
The first eight Hendrix batters reached base in the fourth inning, as the Warriors totaled seven hits and were aided by three Westminster (0-4)Â miscues, leading to nine unearned runs.
Peyton Nance produced a RBI single,
Andie Houser a RBI double,
Kinsey Bryant a two-run double and
Grace Bryant a sacrifice fly to make the score 9-0.
Tori Veith (1) took Haley Miller deep to left center for a two-run shot, her first collegiate dinger.
Avery Colclaser (1) turned an Andee Raysik offering into a three-run bomb to center to put her team up two touchdowns.
A Houser RBI groundout and
Gabby Naples two-run double in the fifth concluded the offensive onslaught.
Colclaser ended with three hits and as many RBIs and runs scored. K. Bryant, Lee, Veith and Houser each had two hits. K. Bryant, Veith, Houser and Naples each plated two. Shaw, Veith, Houser, Naples and
Kaleigh Smith each scored twice.
Eight of Hendrix's 15 hits went for extra bases, including two homers, a triple and five doubles.
Makayla Ragland (1-0) went the distance in the circle for the win, tossing a four-hitter with a strikeout while inducing 10 groundouts.
Raegen Dickinson had two hits in defeat.
Miller (0-2) took the loss, allowing 13 runs, six earned, on 11 hits with three walks and a wild pitch in 3.2 innings pitched. Raysik gave up four runs, three earned, on four hits with a walk in 1.1 innings of relief.
Suire improved to 2-0 against his former squad, and the Orange and Black have won six of the last nine meetings against Centenary (3-3).
Hendrix built a 9-1 upper hand through three innings.
In the first inning, Colclaser scored on an Anna Scarbock throwing error, and
Kelsey Sample delivered a sacrifice fly. A Colclaser RBI single in the second put her team ahead 3-0.
After the Ladies got on the board in the top of the third, the Warriors exploded for six runs on eight hits in the bottom of the frame. G. Bryant (2) took Scarbock out to left for a two-run blast to make the score 5-1. Colclaser and
Betty Wolfe RBI singles made the difference six. Colclaser scored from third on a play which began when
Hailey Johnston stole second. K. Bryant singled, allowing Johnston to score before K. Bryant was tagged for the third out of the inning after being caught in a rundown.
Hendrix allowed seven unearned runs in the final three innings.
In the top of the seventh, wIth the bases loaded, two outs and her team trailing 9-7, Kaitlyn Dickey singled to Shaw. Kaylea Patridge scored, but Viviana Rivero was tagged out by K. Bryant on Shaw's throw to home, ending the Ladies' comeback attempt.
Colclaser batted 3-for-4. She and G. Bryant each had two RBIs.Â
Colclaser and Johnston each touched home twice.
Hendrix totaled 13 hits.
Johnston (3-0) pitched 4.1 innings for the win, allowing one earned run on five hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Patridge and Dickey each batted 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs. Rivero drove in three. Mackenzie Cox scored four times.
Scarbock (1-2) took the loss in the circle, giving up five runs, two earned, on five hits with a strikeout in two innings. Ashley Hunter was tagged for four earned runs on six hits with a strikeout in just one inning of relief.
Each team committed four errors.
Hendrix continues a 14-game homestand when the Warriors open Southern Athletic Association play with a three-game series against Centre (Ky.) Feb. 26-27. The first contest of Saturday's doubleheader begins at 11 a.m. CT.
