MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Hendrix is tied for sixth after the first day of the Southern Athletic Association Championships, hosted by Berry (Ga.) at Valhalla Stadium. The Orange and Black compiled eight points.

The Warriors' Ethan Armour finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdle prelims in a time of 15.53 seconds. Connor Escajeda took fifth in the 400 meter prelims in 49.49 seconds. Cooper Elliott was 16th in the 100 meter prelims in 11.44 seconds. In the 400 meter hurdle prelims, Cole Bolen was 15th in 1:06.00.

In the 200 meter prelims, Escajeda came in sixth in 22.33 seconds. Elliott was 15th in 23.35 seconds, Zacchaeus Knowles 20th in 23.76 seconds, Daniel Barrett 28th in 25.44 seconds and Kayden Castles 29th in 26.26 seconds.

Armour took fifth in the pole vault after clearing 3.94 meters, sixth in the javelin after a throw of 46.62 meters and 12th in the shot put after a mark of 11.56 meters.

The SAA Championships conclude Saturday. The meet starts at 8 a.m. CT.
