MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Hendrix sits in fourth place after the first day of the Southern Athletic Association Championships, hosted by Berry (Ga.) at Valhalla Stadium. The Orange and Black compiled 24 points.
The Warriors'
Madelyn Klinkerman won the title in the hammer after finishing second in the event a season ago. On Friday, she posted a mark of 43.16 meters, the 14th best all-time in the meet.
Alivia Allen took fifth in the event after a throw of 36.74 meters.Â
Ashley Juniewicz was 14th with a toss of 19.90 meters.
Friday marked Klinkerman's second-career conference championship after winning the discus competition a season ago.
Allen won the championship in the shot put after a throw of 12.14 meters, just .09 shy of
Jaydan Hunt's 2019 Hendrix record and the 10th best all-time in the meet. Juniewicz was 13th with a throw of 6.60 meters.

Rachel Woppman finished 11th in the 100 meter hurdle prelims in a time of 18.76 seconds.
Margaret Sampson-Green placed 10th in the 400 meter prelims in 1:19.30, while
Emma Sampson-Green was 11th in 1:19.97. In the 400 meter hurdle prelims,
Victoria Ortega finished 13th in a time of 1:18.87, while Woppman was 15th in 1:19.78. Ortega took 12th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 13:19.00.Â
