BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Hendrix dropped a doubleheader Saturday to No. 4 Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) by scores of 11-1 in five innings and 2-0 in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action at BSC Softball Park.

In game one, Grace Bryant gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a RBI single to right center, plating Avery Colclaser, but a Kailey Walters two-run double to right center in the bottom of the frame gave the Panthers the lead for good.

Birmingham-Southern (27-4, 11-1 SAA) added three insurance runs in the third and six in the fourth.

Walters ended 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Hailee Bryan (17-2) went the distance in the circle for the Panthers, allowing one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts and a walk.

Bryant was 2-for-2. Aubrey Lee, Kinsey Bryant and Andie Houser each batted 1-for-2. Colclaser drew a walk.

Kelsey Sample (2-4) pitched 2.1 innings for Hendrix (17-13, 7-7 SAA), giving up five earned runs on seven hits with a walk.

In game two, the Panthers plated their only runs in the sixth when Walters tallied a RBI on a fielder's choice and Alyssa Fowler scored on a throwing error.

Morgan McGuire was 3-for-3 with a run scored.

Caroline Campbell (8-0) went the distance in the circle for Birmingham-Southern, tossing a four-hitter with five strikeouts and a wild pitch.

K. Bryant ended 3-for-3 with a double. G. Bryant had a hit.

Hailey Johnston (8-4) pitched her third complete game this season for the Warriors, giving up two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.

The series finale is Sunday at noon CT.
