Memphis, Tenn. - Hendrix's men's lacrosse season came to an end on Saturday afternoon after losing in Memphis to Rhodes 18-7.
Rhodes scored the game's first three goals before
Spencer Dorfneilsen got the Warriors on the board just over halfway thru the 1st quarter.
After going down 5-1 early in the 2nd quarter,
Michael DeCaro and
Tyler Jones both netted goals to cut Rhodes' lead to two. The two goal margin would be the closest Hendrix got to the Lynx all afternoon.
Goals from Dorfneilsen and
Maximus LaMendola would cap the scoring the Warriors in the first half, as they entered the halftime interval trailing their I-40 rivals 11-6.
Rhodes would score the only three goals of the 3rd quarter to further cement their advantage.
Dorfneilsen scored with just under 10 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter, but the Warriors would be outscored 4-1 in the final period of play.
Hendrix was outshot 64-32 on the afternoon, with
Ian Domeika called on to make 18 saves. The Warriors were 7-28 on faceoffs and lost the turnover battle 33-24.
Hendrix ends its season 6-11 and 1-5 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
