Conway, Ark. - Women's Tennis closed out its pre-Spring Break non-conference schedule with a narrow 5-4 loss to Sterling.

Final: Sterling 5, Hendrix 4

DOUBLES:

• Eleanor Burks and Avery Stephens cruised to an 8-2 win in the No. 1 doubles match
• Hendrix took the No. 2 doubles match as well courtesy of an 8-6 win by Josie Leffingwell and Emma Self
• Ayden Huckelbury and Kate Adcox suffered an 8-1 defeat in the No. 3 doubles slot

SINGLES:

• Burks battled back from a first-set loss to send the No. 1 singles match to a third set, but ultimately fell 4-6, 6-2, 8-10
• After dropping the first set 6-3, Stephens' match in the No. 2 singles slot went unfinished
• Self took care of business in the No. 3 spot with a 6-3, 6-0 win
• Leffingwell recorded Hendrix's second win in singles, taking the No. 4 spot with a 1-6, 7-5, 10-2 win
• In the No. 5 spot, Huckelbury was beaten in straight sets
• Adcox took the No. 6 spot to a third set, but narrowly dropped the final set in a 0-6, 7-5, 7-10 loss
