Conway, Ark. - Hendrix dropped its home conference opener 23-10 to the Centre Colonels on Saturday afternoon at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
Peyton Refling netted the game's opening goal just under five minutes into the match.
After three unanswered Colonel goals,
Asia Mackey and
Eliza Thacker each scored to even the contest at 3-3.
Centre then went on a 12-2 scoring run to end the first half, with Refling netting Hendrix's two goals.
The Warriors got off on the right foot in the second half with two quick goals from Refling and
Kinley Robinson to trim Centre's lead to eight.
However, the Colonels would go on to score eight of the last eleven goals to secure the win.
Addey Bolz was in goal for the entire sixty minutes on Saturday afternoon and recorded a career-high 21 saves.
Refling tallied a game-high eight points. Mackey followed that up with two goals and an assist.
Thacker and Robinson each recorded two points.
The loss drops Hendrix to 3-5 (0-2 SAA). They will remain home for a nonconference contest with Drury on Friday evening at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
