Batesville, Ark. - Hendrix took both games of Friday's doubleheader versus Lyon by scores of 8-5. The Warriors had to go to extra-innings to clinch the first game but were able to dispatch of the Scots in seven innings in Game 2.
Game 1 [W, 8-5 (F/8)]
Emma Salis went the distance in Game 1, scattering 11 hits across 8.0 innings and allowing just 3 earned runs.
Hendrix opened the scoring in the top of the fourth as
Tori Maldonado scored
Alyssa Sornia on a fielder's choice. After Lyon scored two in the home half of the fifth inning,
Kaycee Schoen put a dent in the scoreboard with a solo shot to left center to tie the game at 2-2.
Betty Wolfe doubled in the top of the 7th to score
Ella Boling to give the Warriors a 3-2 lead. Lyon would tie it up in the next half inning to send the game into extras.
With the ghost runner
Rylee Harris at third base and one out in the top of the 8th, Austyn Caudle to left field to score Harris and break the tie.
Layton Rogers then doubled to right field to score Maldonado and Caudle to make it 6-3 before Wolfe singled to center field to score
Emmaline Trosclair and Rogers. In the bottom of the 8th, Salis worked around a couple singles and an error to eventually retire the side and close out the win.
Game 2 (W, 8-5)
Emmaline Trosclair started out in the circle in Game 2 and allowed just 5 hits and 1 earned run in 5.2 IP while striking out 4.

Betty Wolfe on an RBI single. The latter led off the game with a bunt single. Hendrix doubled their lead in the second inning when
Alyssa Sornia drove in
Peyton Frady with an RBI single. Lyon got a run back in the home half of the third inning.
Wolfe led off the fifth inning with a single before
Rylee Harris jacked a two-run shot out of the park to increase the lead to 4-1. The Warriors would end up plating 6 runs on 6 hits in the fifth to take an 8-1 lead.
Gianna Robinson entered in relief of Trosclair with two outs in the 6th and recorded the third out to retire the side. Robinson worked around a couple runs in the 7th and closed out the game with a strikeout.
