Sewanee, Tenn. - Hendrix suffered a 13-3 defeat to the Sewanee Tigers on Saturday evening in the Southern Athletic Association quarterfinals.
The Warriors surrendered just three first-period goals and went into halftime down 7-0. Sewanee tacked on five more in the third quarter and another with 6:34 left in the final quarter before Hendrix finally got on the board with an unassisted goal from
Zachary Cox at the 4:25 mark.
Klaus Rowan scored just fourteen seconds later to give the Warriors another goal, and
Nick Quarles rounded out the scoring with just over a minute left in regulation to cap off his final game as a Warrior.
Defensively,
Jake Nelson caused two turnovers and scooped up five ground balls.
Michael DeCaro went 8-of-19 on faceoffs.
Quarles and Williams both rattled off seven shots, putting seven of those fourteen on frame.
Ian Domeika made 16 saves in goal to put a bow on a stellar career as a four-year starter.
