Montgomery, Ala. - Hendrix fell to 0-2 on the year with an 11-6 loss to Huntingdon on Sunday afternoon at Charles Lee Field.
The Hawks score the game's opening goal a minute into the contest, but
Austin Williams responded just 90 seconds later with the tying goal assisted by
Nicholas Smith. Williams was at it again three minutes later with the unassisted go-ahead goal, and Smith's goal 15 seconds into the second quarter put Hendrix up 3-1. Huntingdon closed the half with two unanswered goals to send the two sides deadlocked into halftime.
Huntingdon scored the go-ahead goal two minutes into the second half before
Zachary Cox tied the game back up at 3-3 with just over 11 minutes to play in the period. The Hawks then went on a 4-0 run to go up 8-4 before Williams put a stop to the bleeding with his third goal of the game.
Ethan Miller got a goal back for the away side late in the fourth, but Hendrix was unable to make any dent in the Hawks' lead down the home stretch.
Cooper Littleton (L, 0-2) made 20 saves in his second start of the season.
Lucius Crystal led Hendrix with three caused turnovers, while
Matthew Parsons scooped up four ground-balls.
