Batesville, Ark. - Hendrix finally got in the win column in 2026 with a doubleheader sweep over in-state foe Lyon on Saturday at Howard and Mary House Field.
Game 1 (W, 4-2)
Emma Salis (W, 1-3) earned her first winning decision of the season with a masterful performance in the circle, scattering just five hits in 7.0 innings and allowing just one unearned run while striking out six batters.
Lyon took the lead in the home first off an unearned run, but both teams were shutout over the next few frames until Hendrix's bats woke up in the fourth.
Rylee Harris reached first on a one-out error and was able to grab an extra 60-feet on the play.
Kaycee Schoen then singled in Harris for the tying run. Schoen went to second when
Peyton Frady reached on a two-out error, and was then brought in by an
Emmaline Trosclair single to score the go-ahead run.
Two more runs scored in the next inning as
Austynn Caudle instigated some two-out damage with a two-RBI single to score
Bell Jaramillo and
Emerson Naismith.
Salis gave up one run in the sixth to make it a 4-2 game, but was able to work around a one-single in the seventh to retire the side and secure Hendrix's first win of the season.
The Warriors were out-hit 5-4 by the Scots but took advantage of poor fielding by the hosts. 1-4 in the Hendrix lineup all collected one hit, with Jaramillo also working two walks in four total plate appearances.

Game 2 (W, 15-6)
The Warriors ended Saturday's doubleheader with a bang as
Kara LeLeux's lineup accounted for 14 hits in a 15-6 run-rule win.
Rylee Harris led Hendrix offensively with a career-day, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Austynn Caudle and
Emmaline Trosclair each accounted for two hits, with Caudle raking in a career-high five RBIs, four of those coming on a career-first grand slam in the fourth.Â
Emerson Naismith also homered with a three-run go-ahead shot in the second inning.
Hendrix scored runs in every inning and really got going in the second inning with the three-spot off of Naismith's bomb in the second. The Scots also scored at least one run in every inning, but Hendrix put the game beyond doubt with Caudle's grand slam in the fourth and five runs in the fifth, highlighted by RBI doubles from Harris and Schoen.
Emmaline Trosclair (W, 1-2) earned her first win in relief of
Sadie Lewis, who allowed just 3 runs in her 2.1 IP start. Trosclair helped keep the Scots' bats down, limiting Lyon to 3 more runs in 2.2 IP of relief work.
