SHERMAN, Texas — Hendrix wrapped up the 2026 regular season by dropping both games of Saturday's doubleheader to Austin College.
Game 1 (L, 4-3)
Hendrix dropped the first half of the doubleheader in a close 4–3 decision. Hendrix scored twice in the fifth inning, but Austin College's three-run sixth inning secured the win.
Hendrix started strong in the first inning.
Bell Jaramillo singled and advanced to third on
Kaycee Schoen's double.
Rylee Harris then hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Jaramillo to score on a throwing error. The Warriors led 1–0 after the first inning.
In the fifth inning, Hendrix increased its lead with two unearned runs. After
Ella Boling reached on an error,
Emerson Naismith singled. Schoen delivered a crucial two-RBI single, bringing home Boling and Naismith. Hendrix led 3–1 at the end of the fifth inning.
Austin responded in the sixth inning, scoring three runs. Piper Lindlau and Zoey Harrell each contributed RBI singles, and a wild pitch allowed another run to score. Austin took a 4–3 lead into the final inning and prevented Hendrix from scoring the tying run in the final inning.
Gianna Robinson pitched 5.1 innings, allowing eight hits and four earned runs while striking out eight batters.
Sadie Lewis entered in relief for 0.2 of an inning, giving up one hit and one walk, while also throwing one wild pitch.
Kaycee Schoen led the team with two hits and drove in two runs, including a double.
Rylee Harris contributed with a sacrifice fly that brought in one run.
Game 2 (L, 2-0)
Hendrix's pitching staff allowed only five hits, but the team could not generate offense, being held hitless through seven innings as the 'Roos eeked out a 2-0 victory.
The third inning saw Austin take the lead when Lauren Trott tripled to center field, driving in Tori Fowler who had reached on an earlier error. The score stood at 1-0 in favor of Austin after three innings.
In the fifth inning, Austin extended its lead. Lauren Trott doubled and was brought home by Tessa Contreras' double to left center, increasing the lead to 2-0. Despite Hendrix's efforts, the score remained unchanged through the final innings.
Emma Salis pitched a complete game, throwing 6.0 innings while allowing 2 runs, only 1 of which was earned. She gave up 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3 batters over her 89-pitch outing.
