CONWAY - Oliver Naumann has been named the 2026 SCAC Men's Golfer of the Year, the league office announced on Monday. The senior from Dallas turned in one of the great seasons in program history by winning three individual spring titles, including the 2026 SCAC individual championship.
Naumann claimed his first individual championship of the season on March 17 at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Bossier City, Louisiana, hosted by Centenary. Just as impressive, Naumann helped lead Hendrix to the program's first tournament win of the modern era with a total score of 612 (312 + 300) to win by one shot.
A month later, Naumann once again finished atop the leaderboards, this time at the Timbergate Preview in Edinburgh, Indiana, hosted by Spalding. The senior finished at 3-under after 36 holes to win the tournament, while the Warriors finished tied for second, which marked the fourth-consecutive top-five finish for the team. With two individual titles under his belt, Naumann became the first Hendrix golfer in the NCAA Division III era to win multiple individual crowns.
Naumann saved his best performance for last to cap off a remarkable senior season, going wire-to-wire at the SCAC Championships in Westworth Village, Texas by holding at least a share of the lead throughout the tournament. Naumann fired a final round 37 in what was a shortened final day due to weather conditions, and finished with a 45-hole total of 178 (-2) to win the tournament by one shot. In doing so, he became the first Warrior golfer — male or female — to earn medalist honors at the conference championships. In 2004, Justin Long finished the final round tied for first but lost in a playoff.
To go along with his individual SCAC title, Naumann was also announced as the recipient of the SCAC's prestigious Elite 19 award for men's golf, which honors " the best of the best" as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement.
With the three tournament victories, the SCAC Elite 19 Award, and now SCAC Men's Golfer of the Year honors in hand, Naumann has wrapped up arguably the most decorated season in program history.
