Curt Foxx enters his seventh season at the helm of the Hendrix College men's lacrosse program.
He also joined the Warriors' football staff as the running backs coach in 2016.
In 2014, Foxx' Warriors broke the season record for wins with seven and finished fifth in the Southern Athletic Association. Hendrix broke the program record for points, goals, assists, shots, shots on goal, ground balls, faceoff percentage and goals against average.
In 2015, Hendrix led the nation in caused turnovers per game and ranked 15th in assists per game, 26th in points per game, 32nd in ground balls per game and scoring offense.
After three straight winless seasons, Foxx guided the Warriors to the program's first ever victories in his first season, going 5-7 and 3-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play in 2011. He followed in 2012 with a 5-10 record and a 4-5 mark in league playing, finishing in sixth place. In 2012, the Warriors once again went 5-10 and finished 3-4 in the SAA, placing fifth.
In six seasons, Foxx' team's have set every program record. He has coached 19 all-conference selections and one Scholar All-American.
Foxx came to Hendrix after a three year stint at Hood College in Frederick, Md. The Chicago native transformed Hood’s lacrosse program from a 46-game losing streak over its first four seasons (2005-08) to a 6-11 record in 2010.
He joined the Hood lacrosse program as an assistant coach in 2007 and was named head coach prior to the 2008-09 season. Foxx halted the Blazers' losing streak in his first year as a head coach with a 1-13 record.
Foxx’ 2010 team set records in all aspects of the game and improved by leaps and bounds in one of the most competitive lacrosse conferences in the nation. Hood competes in the Capital Athletic Conference which boasts lacrosse power programs including Salisbury University (eight NCAA Championships), Stevenson University, Gallaudet University, Marymount University, University of Mary Washington, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Wesley College and York College.
Foxx played a major role in recruiting the three largest classes in the Blazers’ history with a total of 56 talented student-athletes. Foxx has made strong connections all over the country, reeling in student-athletes from California, Colorado,Kansas, Indiana and Nevada to name a few states.
Foxx started his coaching career in 1998 at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill. where his teams won two state titles. He has also coached at the high school and club level in Raleigh, N.C., Brentwood, Tenn., Frederick, Md., Hanover, Pa., and Purcellville, Va. Foxx is also currently a member of the coaching staff for the Danish National Men’s Team out of Copenhagen, Denmark. Foxx holds valuable relationships with high school and college coaches throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Foxx earned his B.A. in History and Religious Studies from Kenyon College in Grambier, Ohio in 2002 and earned his M.Ed. in Social Studies and Secondary Education from Vanderbilt University in 2005. He lettered in both lacrosse and football during his playing careers at Kenyon and Loyola Academy.
