Muna Lee enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Warrior Cross Country/Track and Field teams. She will work primarily with the sprints group, while assisting with the distance runners.
Lee brings a wealth of international competitive experience to the program, having recently retired from a 12-year professional sprinting career. She competed in the Athens Olympics in 2004 and the Beijing Olympics in 2008, qualifying for 3 Olympic finals with finishes of 4th, 5th, and 7th. She is also won a USA championship in 2008, and was a member of the gold medal winning 4x100 meter relay team at the 2005 World Championships.
Lee has been a volunteer assistant at Texas A&M and Louisiana State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from LSU. She was the most decorated female athlete in school history with 20 All-American awards, 12 SEC championships, and 7 NCAA titles.
