Taylor Oglesby

Taylor Oglesby, a 2020 graduate and former player for Hendrix Softball, is coming back for more. Oglesby will enter her first season as Assistant Coach for Hendrix in 2023. Oglesby was a four-year starter for Hendrix (2017-20) as a utility/middle infielder. After battling through injuries her freshman season, Oglesby received All-SAA honorable mention honors her sophomore year. Oglesby stepped it up even more her junior season with a batting average of .379, an on-base percentage of .492, and a slugging percentage of .966 which got her a nomination for All-SAA first team honors. She also led the team in sacrifice bunts and hit-bypitch in the 2019 season. Although her senior season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Oglesby made the most of it and batted .300 with 12 hits, 7 walks, and 8 RBIs in 14 games. Defensive-minded, Oglesby had 174 put-outs plus 135 assists and only committed a total of 20 errors during her career at Hendrix; she committed 0 errors during her shortened senior season. Oglesby was a leader on and off the field. She was on the SAA’s Academic Honor Roll all 4 years, and was/is an avid volunteer with the Miracle League of Arkansas which provides a safe and accessible environment for disabled children to play softball/baseball.
    Oglesby earned a Bachelor of Science in health science with a minor in psychology from Hendrix in May of 2020. The Benton, Arkansas native attended Benton High School where she was an All-State Athlete in softball and basketball
