Kent Gartin was a walk-on letterwinner in track at Ole Miss in the early 90's where he ran sprints. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry 1993 and Masters of Science in Biochemistry 1996 at Ole Miss.  After taking 25 years off of sprinting, he resumed competing in track meets at the Master's level and competes regularly in USATF Masters and Senior Meets. He won the USATF National Championship in the Pentathlon in 2019 (LJ, Javelin, 200M, Discus, & 1500) and also the National Champion at the National Senior Games in the 100M in 2022. He will represent the USA at the World's Indoors Masters Championships in the spring of 2025.
