Junior reliever Nick Land went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and seven strikeouts over 6.1 innings out of the bullpen. In three appearances he allowed just an unearned run and gave up only four hits. He struck out two and did not allow a base runner in an inning and a third against Central Baptist on Wednesday. Land, from Austin, Texas, allowed just one hit and struck out two in Friday’s 7-3 win at Sewanee. He closed out the weekend by earning the win in Saturday’s 6-4 victory against the Tigers. Land struck out three over three innings in the game. He limited batters to a .174 average on the week.
