Sophomore catcher Karli Sewell hit .615 (8-for-13) with three runs, seven RBI, two doubles, three triples and three walks as the Warriors went 4-0 on opening weekend. Sewell, from Castroville, Texas, went 1-for-2 with two walks in Saturday's 5-2 win at Austin. She then went 4-for-5 with 4 RBI with two doubles and a RBI in game two against the 'Roos. Sewell was 2-for-3 with a pair of triples and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win at Dallas. She capped the weekend with a three-run triple and a walk in a 10-0, five-inning win against the Crusaders. For the weekend, Sewell had a 1.231 slugging percentage and .688 OBP. She also threw out all three runners trying to steal on her from behind the plate.
