CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College volleyball team defeated cross-town foe Central Baptist College 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22 at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

The visiting Warriors (8-11) hit .245 for the match with 59 kills, four aces, 68 digs and four blocks. The Lady Mustangs (6-12) hit .140 with 48 kills, eight aces, 70 digs and seven blocks.

Hendrix junior outside hitter Katie Burchfield recorded her third double-double of the season with a career-high 15 kills, eight of which came in the third set, and 10 digs. Senior outside hitter Melissa Clement led the way with 17 kills and hit .371. Sophomore middle blocker Carson Hunter added 12 kills and three blocks. Defensively, freshman libero Jill Sikes posted a season-best 26 digs and sophomore Jasmine Johnson added nine. Setters Zoe Calhoun and Breanna Wright tallied 24 assists each.

CBC was led by Ajax Simpson's 12 kills and 18 digs and Amy Schichtl's 12 kills and four blocks. Tiffaniy Curtwright had 28 assists and 12 digs and Tyler Picket dug up 16 balls.

The Warriors will return to Southern Athletic Association play on Friday when they take on Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
