FULTON, Mo. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team's shooting went cold and fell into foul trouble as the Warriors (0-2) fell to Greenville College at the Tip-Off Classic hosted by Westminster College on Saturday.
The Panthers (1-1) jumped out a 14-9 lead with 9:34 left in the first half, before the Warriors went on a 12-2 run over the next two minutes to take a 21-16 lead. Freshman forward
Katy Gallien recorded five of her 10 points during the streak on a pair of free throws and three-pointer.
Greenville answered by outscoring Hendrix 18-3 the rest of the half to take a 34-24 lead into the break. The Panthers only made eight field goals in the first half, but went 17-of-20 at the free throw line.
The Warriors managed to make just 18 percent (6-of-34) percent of their shots in the second half while the Panthers scorched the nets at 64 percent (14-of-22) and went 23-of-28 from the stripe, outscoring Hendrix 52-26 in the final period.
For the game, Greenville shot 41.5 percent (22-of-53) and took advantage of 33 Hendrix fouls, going 40-of-48 from the free throw line. The Warriors shot 20 percent (13--of-64), went 6-of-29 from three-point territory (21 percent) and 18-of-30 from the stripe. The Panthers had a 49-39 rebound advantage.

Kati Broberg led the Warriors with a career-high 13 points and Gallien chipped in 10 off the bench to go with six rebounds. Junior guard
Kaitlin McNeill added nine points, six rebounds and three assists and freshman guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler had seven points and five assists.
Coley Baker came off the bench to pace the Panthers with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Laura Hobbie also scored 16 points and Ieshia Adams had 14 and five assists. Kayla Hyde scored 11 points and pulled down eight boards and Emily Gundy scored 11 points, all of which came from the free throw line.
Hendrix will host in-state rival University of the Ozarks on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
