MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost their first Southern Athletic Association contest to Rhodes College 70-56 at Mallory-Hyde Gymnasium on Wednesday night. The visiting Warriors (0-6, 0-1) had a tough shooting night, hitting just 24 percent (14-of-58) of their attempts from the field and 14 percent (3-of-22) from three-point range.
The Lynx (4-0, 1-0) took a 31-18 lead into halftime, as the Warriors made just five field goals and went 0-for-11 from long range in the opening period.
For the game, Rhodes shot 40 percent (24-of-60) from the field and 40 percent (10-of-25) from the three-point line. The Lynx were called for 27 fouls, with the Warriors going 25-of-38 from the free throw line. Rhodes went 12-of-18 from the stripe. Hendrix held a 48-46 rebound advantage.

Jamie Tate led the Warriors with a season-high 17 points. Junior
Kaitlin McNeill also netted a season-best 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Junior guard
Tiffany Hubbard scored six points and freshman
Katy Gallien pulled down six boards. Freshman point guard Caitlin Krisel-Bigler dished out four assists.
Catherine Eckert led the Lynx with 21 points and eight rebounds. Lauren Avant came off the bench for 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Sarah Womack, Natalie Goodrum and Madison Butler added nine points each.
Hendrix will travel to Holly Springs, Miss. to take on Rust College on Monday.
